TEN YEARS OF SHARING JESUS!

 

We are THE PLACE OF PRAISE!

And it has been ten great years of sharing Jesus.

Hallelujah!!!

In the year 2001, I had an idea of writing tracts and giving them out at a monthly Praise Event that I planned to host.

Sadly, it never happened.

This idea would burn in my heart from time to time but I never got round to executing it.

There were so many things on my mind at the time. I was a matured single and that fact was never far from my thoughts.

I decided to take some time away from everything and I then went off and spent a year abroad between 2012 – 2013 getting my MA in Linguistics. While away, apart from studying, there was not much else to do. No social activities to distract me so I had a lot of time on my hands and in those days, I yearned to build a sanctuary where people could come to praise their worries away. And all the while, thoughts of sharing my tracts would resurface often.

Well to the Glory of God, I got married in January of 2014 and as my heaviest burden at the time had been lifted I felt it was time to do something about the tracts I had thought of giving out back in 2001.

I talked to my husband about it and he encouraged and stood by me all the way. (He is still standing by me today).

In October of 2014, we began to host a weekly praise meeting on Wednesdays between 12noon and 1pm. (We discontinued this in 2020 because of COVID)

And then I was introduced to a young man, Olajide Charles, who built The Place of Praise website in October 2015. I am not even sure what I wanted to do with the website then. But it was just there. And then early in 2016, Olajide told me that there was a blog and I could post articles on it. I thought that was interesting. (I could finally share my tracts digitally!)

And that was how God sent us out to share Jesus. And to the Praise amd Glory of His name alone, we have been doing this for the past ten years.

So Olajide wrote and posted the very first article in February, 2016 and ww have not stopped since then.

For many years before then, I had been writing, stashing journals at home and had built a Fort Knox of sorts. But still the task of posting an article every Tuesday was totally new to me. It did not matter what was going on with me, around me or in me, I knew I had to bring a word to God’s people.

As the years progressed, God sent helpers to me who always came in timely to encourage our readers.

The bible says we have received an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life. The past ten years have been filled with such an abundance of Grace.

We have had ups and downs, we have been through thick and thin but God has always seen us all through it all.

Today, I would like to celebrate the team at The Place of Praise, for helping to make a difference and for letting their light shine.

It has been a real privilege working together with you all to share JESUS with the world.

In spite of all your busy schedules, you have spent time, effort and resources to make JESUS trend.

My prayer for us all is that our labour of love will be rewarded beyond what we imagine.

I thank the Holy Spirit for the skill and the ability to write.

I thank God for giving us the past ten years to share JESUS with the world as I look forward to the next ten and many more.

TO GOD ALONE BE ALL THE GLORY!!!
