THE KING OF LOVE
THE KING OF LOVE!
This is a highly coveted title but only One gets to wear it. And that is the original, the One and Only King of love, JESUS!
Any other one is a counterfeit and a fraud. Ladies, beware, please avoid them like a plague! You are warned!!!
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about us being pilgrims on earth. As it turns out, this pilgrimage is fraught with all manner of pleasant and unpleasant situations that can and will lead to diverse reactions from us all.
Some of such reactions are :
Anger
Anxiety
Bitternes
Depression
Envy
Heaviness
Joy
Laughter
Merriness
Pain
Resentment
Stress. To mention a few
Some of the negatives have directly led to the death of some people while all the positives have been known to prolong lives.
When last week I wrote about weapons that are available to us from God’s arsenal, I mentioned that one of such weapons is love.
Love is a very unusual weapon, if you ask me. The idea of love might sound gentle, soft and maybe even mushy. But do not be deceived. Not only is love extremely powerful, it can be fierce and passionate. Ask any mother whose child is being threatened in any way. You will see love in action. Love is also extremely sacrificing. Mothers have gone hungry so that their children could eat. Fathers have kept multiple jobs to put food on the table and a roof over the heads of their families.
God performed the ultimate sacrifice of love when He gave up, actually, literally sacrificed His only Son, Jesus Christ for us all. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV
Jesus also showed His passion for us at the whipping post where He took lash after lash on His own body so that out bodies could be healed, and at the cross where His blood was shed for the forgiveness of all our sins. He loves us passionately. The word passion is from the Latin word “patior” which means to suffer and which refers to the sufferings that Jesus endured for us. “But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” Isaiah 53:5 NLT
The way the world is now, I daresay it requires strength that is beyond us to stay alive. In and of ourselves we are just not able to handle what is thrown to us on a daily basis. There is way too much going on and we must be careful not to be sucked into the darkness. Therfore please, STAY IN THE LIGHT! Stay in the Word of God. The Bible says: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 KJV. Read your bible and pray everyday. That is more than enough light for us to navigate our way through life.
The Word of God also says this: “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8 NLT
That is it! Love just never fails.
Love can take care of all negative emotions before they overwhelm us. Only God is perfect and as such often times we fall, but we must not stay down when we fall.
Love can pull us up and out of the dump.
Love can transform us.
We must remember that we are deeply loved and that we are on God’s mind. “The LORD, who is [always] thinking about us, will bless us. He will bless the descendants of Israel. He will bless the descendants of Aaron.” Psalm 115:12 God’s Word Translation.
God and His Word are the perfect cure for anything that might be threatening to weary us now. Let us immerse ourselves in it. It is where He tells us of His unfailing love. “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 36:7 NIV
Social media can never help. In fact the American Surgeon General has now adviced that social media platforms should carry warning labels of their effects on young peoples lives such as is found on cigarette boxes.
You now see that social media does not in any way build people up. But God’s Word;… now that is a builder. It is the Word of God that constantly assures us that God is with us and that we should not be afraid. It is said that there are three hundred and sixty five (365) “Fear Nots” in the bible. So we have one for every blessed day. We can start with this. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NLT Hear how God lovingly speaks to us. Are we listening to Him yet? It’s time to drown out all the distractions so that we can hear the lover of our souls. clearly.
GOD CARES!
GOD LOVES!
WE SHOULD LET HIM LOVE US!
HE IS THE KING OF LOVE!
