THE POWER OF NO!
NO!!!
This mono-syllabic word which consists of two letters is extremely powerful.
The other day, I was meditating on the scripture below. “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 54:17 KJV
The word “NO” in the English language is classified as a determiner. And a determiner comes before a noun because it gives reference to that noun. And NO! simply means, not at all, not a possibility, to no extent, absolutely not, nada, nothing, zilch.
So here I was, meditating on the scripture and I honestly could not go past the simple word NO. I kept looking for something when I said NO, but I just could not find anything. I always came up with NOTHING. Just nothing. Then I added the next word, “weapon” to my meditation. And I am still there. I have not been able to move past it. Every opportunity I get, I am thinking NO WEAPON, means NO WEAPON. There is nothing to add and there is nothing to take away.
As I carried on, I began to see and understand that “NO WEAPON” means:
No weapon at all.
No possibility of a weapon.
Absolutely no weapon.
No extent of a weapon.
No probability of a weapon.
Not even the tiniest bit of a weapon.
If it is a weapon, the determiner “NO” before it, simply means it does not exist. It will not be found.
Aaaah, this has been ringing like music to my ears.
When people are preparing to go to war, they formulate all kinds of strategies. They hire the best minds, they consult any and everything. They plot, they scheme, they explore the best way to take their enemies captive. Yet the Word of God is saying NONE of that will affect me. I am so excited as I keep meditating on these few words. I cannot stop smiling. I know that I am safe and secure because of this Word.
“The scripture says, “I spoke because I believed.” In the same spirit of faith we also speak because we believe.” 2 Corinthians 4:13 GNT
In the above scripture we are told that it is what we believe that we speak. Yes I know that it is written that No weapon formed against me will succeed. But I also speak it. I am not silent about it. My meditating on it involves speaking it out to my own hearing. Making sure there is no confusion in my mind at all. I affirm it at every opportunity I get. I will soon start singing it as a song. All that is within me must know that NO weapon built against me will ever prosper.
And so dear friends, I challenge you this week, to comb through the Scriptures and find similar promises that say NO!

No evil!
No plague!
These are just a few.
There are many more. Look for them.
Engage in this exercise of meditating and come away being bold, confident, refreshed and knowing that God has got you!
For me, Oluyinka Ego-Martins, there does not exist a weapon, built or formed against me, my husband, my children, my siblings, my family that will ever succeed. That weapon simply does not and will never exist.
I believe and therefore I am speaking it!
