EVERYONE MATTERS TO JESUS

EVERY ONE MATTERS TO JESUS

Our GOD is an awesome GOD.
And everyone matters to Him.

I was following a service on television the other day and people got to come forward and share their testimonies of something miraculous that God had done for them.
I just watched in amazement as people took their turns and talked about different challenges they had faced and how God had seen them through. What struck me was the fact that it did not matter how anyone else saw it or felt about it ; the one who shared a testimony was always elated, excited and joyful.

Jesus’s first miracle was at a social event. A wedding, a joyous and merry occasion. Feasting, drinking and dancing would have been the order of the day. And then the host ran out of wine. Jesus did not think of it as an unnecessary luxury to have. He did not see it as an insignificant detail. He did not think they had enough fun already and they might as well just end the party and go home. No! Not Jesus, the One filled with compassion. He did not think it frivolous at all. He had them load six water jars and turned the liquid content into the finest wine. The embarrassment or shame of the host mattered to Him and He would not let it happen on His watch.  “The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.  Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.  “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” John 2:3, 6-10 NLT

Anither miracle happened when the mother of Peter (one of Jesus disciples) was sick of a fever and she was healed. “And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.” Matthew 8:14 – 15 KJV
Jesus also healed a leper. Back in those days, that condition was like a taboo. Lepers were not allowed to hang around normal people, not even members of their families. They were in complete isolation in a lepers colony. “Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp everyone who is leprous or has a discharge and everyone who is unclean through contact with the dead.” Numbers 5:2 ESV
There was a woman who had been dealing with an issue of blood for  twelve years. She had almost become impoverished as a result of visiting physicians and not getting any better. “And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years,[a] but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.”  Luke 8:43-44 NIV

A man had been sick for thirty-eight years and kept coming to the pool of Bethesda which had supernatural powers at certain times of the day. It was the case that when an angel came to stir the waters, the first person to get into the pool would be healed of whatever disease had been troubling them.  “Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.  When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”  The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.” John 5: 5-9 KJV

There was a young man, a friend of Jesus, his name was Lazarus. He actually died. And was even buried: for four days.  “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.” Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”. So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”. When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”  The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.
Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”  John 11:39-44 NIV

All the testimonies above are different. The miraculous provision of wine at a wedding, the healing of a fever, the healing of a leper and of a chronic hemorrhage of twelve years might all be different in intensity. And then we see a man healed after thirty-eight years of being immobile and then the raising of a dead man. Jesus did it all. He did not think any condition or situation was irrelevant or a waste of His time. That is our God. He wants to solve our every problem. Nothing is too big and nothing is too small for Him to sort out. He is no respecter of persons.  We must not hide anything from Him. Feel free and tell Him what you cannot tell even your nearest and dearest. He sticks closer than a brothet. He will help.

Our GOD is an awesome GOD
And everyone matters to Him.
