THE MIGHTY GOD WHO LOVES ME.

THE MIGHTY GOD WHO LOVES ME.

IT WAS RAINING.

Not a heavy downpour but rain none the less. As I listened to the pitter patter of the rain, I sat down and opened my bible randomly, though I was searching for a particular scripture. But instead of turning the pages to where I was going, I decided to see what God was saying at the place I had opened. And I saw this : “God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ Job 37: 5-6 NIV
And I sat there thinking, “Hmmm … so this rain, this light shower, God is the One who told it to begin!” Awesome! I had never consciously thought like that before and I realised that I should think more about the seemingly mundane and simple things in nature, which I tend to take for granted but which are actually mighty acts of God. For me this was such a big deal.
So many thoughts began to cross my mind.
So this God who does this, who does great and mighty things has given me direct access to Himself; ANY time and EVERY time access.  It is written: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”  Jeremiah  33:3 KJV  There is no time that I cannot go to Him. I do not need to call or book a session ahead, I do not need to make an appointment before hand. He NEVER reschedules me because something else, something more pressing or something more important came up. He has my time all the time. Awesome!
Still I sat there, pondering on this awesome God who created me in His image and who stands up just to help me.
So this God who does all these things says  to me, He is my helper. And that He will even fight my battles “Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.”  Psalms  35:2 KJV
“For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4 NIV
How more mind blowing can this be?
And to crown it all, this God is my Daddy! My ABBA! My Father. And even more so because since my earthly father went to live in heaven, I got the best upgrade ever! I became an original ABBA’s child because He is a Father to the fatherless. I am greatly blessed indeed.
All these made me think about my son: in particular, my relationship with him. My son trusts me completely, it is scary. He checks everything with me first. He asks me: “Mama, am I allowed to do this or that?” “Can I have this or that?” I find that I am very careful to not make random promises to him because I have seen him sad when I don’t keep my word to him. So I try my best. But still, I am not God. And our God is not me.
This Mighty, Majestic, Magnificent God is very unlike me who might sometimes not make good on a promise I make to my son. This God, this Father, is a promise keeper. “The LORD always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does.” Psalm 146:13b NLT
And to think that this ALMIGHTY GOD, loves us beyond compare.

In this season, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of His only Son, Jesus, let us truly honour our God and our Father, who gave up ALL He had because of His love for us. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NLTAnd let us remember that Jesus did not come to lord it over us, (though He had every right to do so), but rather, He came to reveal the heart of the Father to us – a heart of love.  “No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.” John 16:27  NIV
“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” John 17:25-26 NIV
The love of God for us His children is matchless. Nothing compares to it.
There is therefore no other reason for this season.
IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS, THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF THE FATHER, WHO CAME TO TELL US ABOUT THE FATHER’S LOVE AND WHO CAME TO RECONCILE US TO HIM.

THIS SEASON,  LET US THANK GOD FOR HIS LOVE, LET US CELEBRATE JESUS AND LET US THANK THE HOLY SPIRIT.
