AT THE END OF THE DAY
AT THE END OF THE DAY.
My son and I have had a nightly routine from since he was a baby. We call it mama time. First we do bathtime, then we sing a song “At the end of the day”, we say our prayers, do a bed time story, then I sing a lullaby, and he is fast asleep before long.
The song “At the end of the day” was taught to me by my aunty (big sister), Mrs. Ayoyinka Ekundayo. She would sing it to us before we went to bed, when we were children. Thank you very much Aunty Ayo. God bless you much more.
Tonight as I reflect on the journey of 2025, I see that the only thing to do at this point is to kneel and say thank you LORD.
What a year it has been!
Loaded with highs!
Loaded with lows!
Loaded with excitement!
Loaded with disappointment!
Loaded with betrayal!
Loaded with loss!
But also seriously loaded with
Compassion!
Grace!
Kindness!
Love and
Mercy.
For every thing that was thrown to derail or harm us this year, the LORD loaded us with Grace and Mercy, to keep us going. I know this because we are still here.
He showed me (personally) so much compassion and kindness by always speaking tenderly to me. His Words were never harsh even when I was clearly in the wrong. And especially when I did not follow instructions, He would still find a way to get me back on track. I AM GRATEFUL TO ABBA.
The bible says that “Anyone who is among the living has hope —even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” Ecclesiastes 9:4 NIV So if you are still alive today, believe me there is massive hope for you. And that is more than enough reason to be thankful.
In the last couple of months of this year, it was like there would be no end to the tragedies. But we are here today and that is only because “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” Lamentations 3:22 KJV And for this reason our hopes should not be shattered. We must stand firm and look only to Jesus for our help.
God rhas spoken words to us and concerning us. We must hold on to those promises because they never fail.
No matter what we faced or passed through in 2025, God is still and always will be a good God. I honestly cannot explain this the way I would love to, but one thing I know is that God is NEVER the author of disaster. NEVER.
In all my trials this year, I did not waste time blaming anyone. I just asked God to show me where things went wrong. And He did. He showed me that more than anything, I should focus on Jesus. DO NOT FOCUS ON THE PROBLEM. DO NOT FOCUS ON THE LOSS. DO NOT FOCUS ON THOSE WHO CHEATED YOU. DO NOT FOCUS ON THE HURT AND THE PAIN. To focus on all the wrong that was done to us or on the wickedness we passed through is the beginning of the toxicity that will eventually do more harm than any good. God said to instead, focus on Jesus. Jesus is the Word. The more time we spend in the Word, the clearer things become, because God is a God of order and peace. “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.“ 1 Corinthians 14:33a God is not happy when the enemy is dealing with us. The enemy is the enemy. The enemy is not God and will never be God. And GOD is not the enemy. We must not mix things up, please.
Therefore dear friends, as we wave a final goodbye to the year 2025, think back especially to things that did not go as expected and to the lessons we learnt. But more than that, please come into a place of gratitude and thanksgiving, because there are too many reasons to be grateful to God. And remember to thank Him for JESUS while we are at it. Jesus is every reason why we must go into the new year filled with very high hopes. Because of Jesus our hopes will not be dashed.
WE ARE NOW AT THE END OF THE YEAR.
LET US THANK GOD FOR BRINGING US THROUGH DANGERS SEEN AND UNSEEN.
A VERY HAPPY AND TRULY BLESSED YEAR 2026, TO US ALL!
