THE PLACE OF INTIMACY WITH GOD.

THE PLACE OF INTIMACY WITH GOD

When a man has been intimate with a woman, the possibility of conception is very high, all things being equal. And though conception has taken place, just the woman and possibly the man are the only ones who are aware of it. But there will come a time when the result can no longer be hidden. It will show for all to see. The result of what was carried out behind closed doors would become visible.

This was the thought that came to me as I was meditating on the habit of prayer following from The Place of Praise article “Have you prayed?” of Tuesday 20th January, 2026.

Jesus tells us in the bible that men should pray all the time. “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18:1 KJV

He also tells us how to pray. “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:6 KJV God is delighted to reward us for all the world to see.

Let us agree that prayer is communication with God. Normally communication should come easy when you are already in a relationship with a person. Therefore our relationship with God should put us in a position to find it easier to communicate with Him in the place of prayer.

Intimacy with God is a whole topic on its own that would require quite a bit of unpacking. But in a nutshell it could be described as a deep personal, relationship that one experiences with God, characterized by closeness, trust, and consistent, two-way communication. It is much more than going to church on a Sunday or for midweek services. It requires effort and commitment. It must be a personal experience. Nobody can do it for us. No matter how many church programs we attend, this personal time we spend up close is what brings the intimacy.

It is therefore in that place of intimacy with God that we conceive of ideas, solutions to problems, healing, blessings and we experience all kinds of divine visitations.

You see God is a covenant keeping God. He does not lie. He cannot lie. His very nature of being holy will not allow Him.  He does exactly whatever He says He will do.

In that place of intimacy what we are doing is seeking God, chasing God and surrendering to God, completely.

Now that is exactly the kind of relationship that God wants to have with us and such a one can never be in vain.

We can take off the mask completely with Him. He will help us and see us through life. “I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek me in vain.’ I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right.” Isaiah 45:19 ESV

We must never give up on God.  He will always come through for us.

You see God loves it when we seek him. And there is actually a reward for it. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11::6 KJV

God always shows up in the place of intimacy. “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” Proverbs 8::17 KJV

God will not bless us to hide us and He will not hide to bless us. He wants the world to know about our relationship with Him. A way of drawing more people to Himself. “How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.” Psalm 31:19 NLT

Like a man who craves intimacy with his wife, God looks forward to that time with us, where it’s just the two of us and where He can have our undivided attention and then He can tell us deep things. “Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about. Jeremiah 33:3 GNT.

Let us prioritise our relationship with God this year 2026.

LET US COME INTO THE PLACE OF INTIMACY WITH GOD AND WATCH HIM DISPLAY HIS SPLENDOUR THROUGH US, IT WILL SHOW THAT WE HAVE BEEN WITH HIM.
