A LOVE LETTER TO MY DARLING

A LOVE LETTER TO MY DARLING

I love the idea of love.

I love to read a love story.

I love to go to weddings.

Call me a hopeless romantic. It makes no difference to me.

I still love “love”.

Yesterday, was a day set aside to acknowledge, celebrate and honour women all over the world (International Women’s Day); so following in the mood of celebration, I am bringing this “love letter” to all the women out there. So read up ladies! this letter is from One who loves us very dearly. He is called  “The Lover of our souls!”

“My lover spoke to me, saying:
“Arise, my darling;
My beautiful one, come away with me!
Look! The winter has passed,
the winter rains are over and gone.
Blossoms have appeared in the land,
the time for pruning and singing has come;
the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
 The fig tree has ripened its figs,
the vines have blossomed and give off their fragrance.
Arise, come away my darling;
my beautiful one, come away with me!” Songs of Solomon 2:10-13 NEW ENGLISH TRANSLATION

God is calling us now to rise up and stand tall.

He calls you and I; “beautiful one”. Because He knows we are. He made us beautiful. Let us celebrate that.

He wants to spend time with us. Please let us not keep him waiting. He wants to whisper truths to us about ourselves that we have forgotten. “Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his bride.” Isaiah 62:4 NLT

He wants to assure us of His protection, His provision, His accessibility always. He is never far away from us.

Now He is telling us that the season has changed. It is a time of refreshing, a rebirth, a reawakening. The dreariness and heaviness of the past can no longer hold us down.

It is time to blossom, to spring forth and display our beauty: the real beauty that comes from within; our inner strength. Because when we spend time with Him, we will be filled with joy and His joy is our strength. “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalms 16:11 KJV

But do not be afraid when we spend time with Him and He begins to point out the things we need to let go of, that is fine. It is the pruning process. And it will make us better off. It will give room for much needed new growth. And as that happens we will have no choice but to burst into singing and dancing.

Our past and present investments of time, energy, effort, material, spiritual and emotional resources are beginning to yield juicy fruits. Our labour was not, is not and will never be in vain. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6 : 9 NLT

And do you see how attractive we have become? We are blossoming and sending off such sweet smelling perfume so much so that we are attracting every good thing. We are attracting favour. Because it is the set time for our favour.

And still He bids us come. He wants to give us much more. But we can only access this as we spend more time with Him.

Dear Friend, Sister, auntie, daughter and mother, I am so excited about what lies ahead. Our God, is relentlessly pursuing us now to come up and spend time with Him. If we are not already doing that, please let us start now. The ultimate benefits are for us.  It is such a pleasure to know that we are very deeply loved exactly as we are.

“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children,  and that is what we are!” 1 John 3: 1b NLT

So ladies if ever we feel blue about anything,  let’s just whip out that “love letter”,and read it, it will do us a wealth of good.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!
