ALL WE NEED IS JESUS

ALL WE NEED IS JESUS

At a program I recently hosted, one of the participants was a nursing mother. I was very happy to see that happening especially because she was exclusive. No bottles yet. And baby was healthy, happy and cute. At break time everyone wanted to carry her. She was so adorable. All this child needed to grow strong and healthy was from her mother’s breast milk.

This brought me to remember our ABBA, our Heavenly Father, the All Sufficient One, the Almighty God. If only we would know the truth  that God is our sufficiency, with every certainty and assurance, all our anxiety and fear will be gone.
My grandmother of blessed memory always said this to me as a child: “Whoever has Jesus, has everything.” And that is so true. But we are busy jostling for things that are of little or no relevance in the grand scheme of a believer’s eternity.
Having Jesus as our LORD and Saviour is indeed all that we need to flourish and live well in this life. “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:12 NIV The above scripture says a lot. Simply put, a life without Jesus is a waste. Such a life will be filled with all manner of turmoil and negativity. It will be a life of dissatisfaction. A life of discontent. It will be a life with all kinds of gaps that only Jesus could ever fill.
“We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God’s own power, when we learned he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3 CEV God has provided us with all we need to live well.

God is good and His love for us cannot be compared to anything. He gave us all He has. ALL! He gave us Jesus. We should accept and embrace Jesus as a matter of utmost urgency. God did not compromise, God did not hold anything back.
Personally, I find it hard doing life without Jesus. It is simply exhausting. The worst part is when I worry about things that I have no control over. But I always find my way back to the cross where Jesus took all my worries, my cares and my fears on Himself, and then I can be at peace again.
God was more than enough for the children of Israel on their wilderness journey. God is still enough for us today. He provided ready made meals through out the time. He fed them with quail in the evenings and manna in the mornings. He shielded them from the harsh weather conditions in the desert. He was a pillar of cloud to guide them by day and a pillar of fire to light the way by night.
Even their clothes grew with them. How powerful is that!
“For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell!” Nehemiah 9:21 NLT

The LORD is more than enough for us. He is called Jehovah in many ways. A solution to every problem. Here are just a few of His names.
Jehovah Jireh;  Our provider
Jehovah Rapha; Our healer
Jehovah Sabaoth;  Lord of Hosts
Jehovah Nissi; Our banner
Jehovah Shalom; Our peace.

Dear friends, now more than ever, we must know that God is our source, our sufficiency and our sustenance. And He is always there, to help and to guide. It does not matter how hard it gets around and about us. God is with us and He will not allow us be consumed.
We must know this and we must believe it.
Jesus already said that things will happen that might upset us or cause us pain but He encouraged us to cheer up in spite of all that we will ever have to come up against on this earth. “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT
So peace in the midst of trials and storms can be ours only when we have Jesus.

JESUS IS ALL WE NEED, NOW! TAKE HIM!
