DO NOT LET THEM PULL YOU DOWN

It is fiercely competitive out there these days. Typical dog eat dog world. Everybody wants to be the best at their game. Striving to be the best is not in itself a bad thing. It is quite laudable, actually. However, when it involves lying, cheating, stealing , scheming, plotting or even killing the competition in order to stay on top, that is plain evil and sheer wickedness.

There was a man who was almost wiped out by the competition. His name is Daniel. He was royalty of Jewish origin and along with three of his friends, was exiled into Babylon and held captive. Daniel and his friends were outstanding in every thing they did and the spirit of God for excellence was upon them. They were very sharp and easily outwitted the so called Babylonian “wise men, astrologers and magicians”. Daniel pleased  the king with his wisdom and understanding and he was promoted together with his friends over all the wise men of Babylon.  Daniel 2:48.

Naturally,  the Babylonians were furious and plotted ways to bring Daniel and his three friends into disrepute. “There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.  Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.”                      Daniel  3:12 -13 KJV.  After going through the furnace of fire, the king promoted them.  Daniel 3: 30. Please note that often times,  promotion will come after being tried and tested.

Even when a new king ascended the throne, Daniel continued to excel and was promoted to be the “third ruler in the kingdom” . The king who promoted Daniel was assassinated the night he promoted Daniel. Daniel 5: 29-30. (The height of wickedness).  Clearly the Hebrews;  Daniel and his three friends, were in the midst of very serious opposition.  It seemed to be the case that if they could not bring Daniel and his friends down then they would go after their helpers.

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.  Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” Daniel 6:3 & 4 KJV

When God is with you and His Spirit is upon you, trust me; you already have the competitive advantage. Kings will fight for you. “Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.” Daniel  6:14 KJV

When God is with you and His Spirit is upon you, angels will be your teachers and instructors. “And he (the angel Gabriel) informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.” Daniel  9:22 KJV  They will give you the strategy to employ to remain on top.

When the competition wants to get you down and out at all costs, you might begin to feel afraid, weak and threatened. But hey! Please listen to this!!! “DO NOT BE AFRAID”. Rather, cry out to the Lord in prayer and with fasting. He will send help; NOT ONLY to strengthen and encourage you, but to go and wrestle your blessings out of the hands of wicked and devious competitors. Daniel 10:19-20. The Lord, God of Hosts will also send reinforcement to see to it that your blessings are no longer intercepted.

God is with us and He promised in Jeremiah 15:20 KJV “And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”

So hold your head up and DO NOT LET THEM PULL YOU DOWN!
