HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS

HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS

While growing up as a young lady,  I used to attend a lot of wedding ceremonies with my parents. It was always so much fun and I used to look forward to those outings. My parents never allowed us to go late. They were very strict with time keeping.  So we would always get to the church early and be seated even before the bride walked down the aisle with her father. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the whole bridal train from the bride to her flower girls and page boys as well as brides maids and grooms men in their lovely outfits.  Yet, in spite of all this euphoria I would always look out for two things on the wedding programme.  More often than not I would always find “them” there.

The one was a church hymn “O, perfect love, all human thought transcending” – (always to be sung kneeling) and the other was the bible reading (The “Love chapter”) from  1 Corinthians 13.

At this point please let me make a confession.  Back then, I thought the “perfect love” in the hymn referred to the love shared between the new bride and her groom!!! ( I guess I had been reading way too much Romantic fiction a.k.a Mills and Boon)

Anyhow, now I know better. I know the “perfect love” being sung about is God’s perfect love for you and I.  I know no human mind can ever truly understand the love of God for us through Christ Jesus. “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.” 1 John 4:18 NLT    This hymn is a song about the love of Christ for his bride; the church; you and I.

When I go to a wedding now and have to kneel (or maybe just sit) to sing this hymn,  I know that what I am really doing is honouring the God whose love endures forever: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!  His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 107 :1 NLT; What I am doing is praising the God whose love covers a multitude of (my and your) sins;  “Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others].”         1 Peter 4:8 AMPLIFIED;  what I am doing is worshipping the God whose steadfast Love will never fails.  “For his unfailing love for us is powerful;  Psalms 117:2a NLT

The “Love Chapter” talks about Faith, Hope and Love.  And most definitely,  the greatest of these is LOVE. The Love of God for mankind makes our salvation and redemption possible. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John  3:16 KJV

Once again, I bring to you today, the good news of God’s unconditional love for us. If He did not spare His son because of love. What manner of love is this! He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?  Romans  8:32 KJV

Is there perhaps something bothering you? Are you in a bind of some sort and cannot find a way out? Did someone let you down? Did they steal from you? Is that child being rebellious,  disrespectful and disobedient right now? Has the pregnancy test come out negative yet again? Are you struggling with your weight?  Did another guy jilt you? Are you struggling to keep up on the new job? Are you broke? The list of questions is endless. But whatever you are or are not; bring it to a God that loves you so much. Tell Him the truth and quit pretending. Take off the mask!  Let Him fix it. Let Him fix you. Just Let Him.

TRUST IN HIS LOVE.

HIS LOVE WILL NEVER FAIL.
