IT WILL COME TO PASS

IT WILL COME TO PASS!
How I wish I knew the end from the beginning. Sigh! But sadly, I do not. Thankfully though, I do know certain things that should keep me from stressing and being anxious, yet still, often times I find myself fretting.
The truth is that I am not trusting God enough. I am still trying to do some things in my own wisdom and in my own strength. Yet there is no other way but to trust God, completely. How else do we want to fare when it seems like all the odds are against us and when it seems that everything that can go wrong is going wrong?
Let us see what happened to a dear brother: a brother who trusted God completely, in spite of the fact that everything seemed to be going wrong for him. His name is Joseph. Joseph had a dream, and it was a real big dream, like most of us have. And though his dream eventually came to pass, the road to get there was filled with all kinds of mega obstacles. His brothers were so jealous of him they sold him into slavery. As if that was not bad enough, while he worked as a slave the wife of his master told a lie against him which landed him in prison. But the bible kept telling us that God was with Joseph. Let us try to wrap our heads around that : A man who was down on his luck, who seemed to be going from the frying pan into the fire; and the bible refers to him as prosperous! God definitely sees things differently.
Please no matter the challenges we face in life we just have to believe that God is with us. Joseph knew, that the God of his fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel) was with him. I believe he knew this because his father Israel would have trained him in the way of the LORD. This is what the bible says about his grandfather Abraham. “I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.” Genesis 18:19 NLT So definitely, without any doubt, Joseph must have had a relationship with God. Because even when he was in prison we were never told that he was agitated or frustrated. He kept doing what he knew how to do; Interpreting dreams, and the LORD remained with him. “But the LORD was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love. And the LORD made Joseph a favorite with the prison warden.” Genesis 39:21 NLT
Then one day, things changed. Joseph had once interpreted a man’s dream correctly and that man was now present before the king. The king had had a dream and nobody had been able to interpret the dream and when the king called this man, the man remembered Joseph.
“So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.” Genesis 41:14 NLT
That day, Joseph did not only interpret the king’s dream, he was made the prime minister of Egypt.
So you see, God knew where he was taking Joseph to all along but it was not a straightforward journey at all. There were twists and turns and all kinds of rocky terrains. But he got there.
Some of us might be in situations right now that look like there is no relief in sight. It might be looking like all hell has broken loose against us. Let us not be afraid. God is with us. That fire will not burn us. Those waters will not drown us.
We should always know that when God has big plans for us, they will not just be handed to us on a platter of gold. The bible says this : “for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:9 English Standard Version
As soon as the devil catches whiff that God is doing great things in our lives, he swings into action with all kinds of things to distract us. Let us not fall for his distractions please.
Dear friends, that dream will come to pass. There will be hurdles and mountains along the way, but we must trust God completely and stop fretting. We just have to. Any other way will lead to frustration. Yes there are adversaries but: “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 NLT
And always remember that all things will work together for the good of those who love the LORD and are the called according to His purpose.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THAT DREAM. IT WILL SURELY COME TO PASS!!
