JESUS………..A LOVE THAT FORGIVES

In their 1981 Grammy award winning musical “The Lord’s Prayer”, Dony Mcguire and Reba Rambo Mcguire in one of the songs “Forgive me”; have this to say:-

“Forgive me, As I learn how to forgive

The ones who broke my heart, The way I’ve broken yours…”

We all get hurt……………………Psalm 41:7

Sometimes by a false report

We all get offended……………..Luke 17:1

Even by whom it’s least expected

And then the once close ties;

Of very many years gone by;

A relationship,  as comfy as that old sweater;

One you thought NOTHING could ever sever;

Now lies broken and torn apart

As your friend,  your brother or sister departs.

It’s not time to cry, And it’s definitely not time to scream

Maybe you could wait awhile; just to let off some steam

But don’t wait till its too late

Go in search, bring them back, make peace, forgive……………

Forgiveness lifts the burden and weight of pain…………..Proverbs 16:24

Forgiveness brings healing over and over again…………. Proverbs 17:22

Even the vilest offenders, Jesus forgives………………………Luke 23:34

It’s time to put on the nature of Jesus and learn to forgive. …………
