KNOW GOD AND DO EXPLOITS!

Big Daddy loves to play with TY. It’s like therapy for him. As soon as he gets home from work there is a switch; he gets into play mode. He puts on a tee shirt and shorts and he and TY just clown around together.
The other day, while momma was meditating on the  scripture about knowing God, being strong and doing exploits, (which goes like this: “but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel  11:32b KJV) TY ran to her room and said “Momma, Big Daddy wants to bite off my face.” Momma knew he was kidding as the cheeky grin on TY’s face gave the game away. So she began to share with TY immediately. She told him about the above scripture and then went on to explain to him that to know someone means you must be spending a lot of time with them. And if that is the case then you will know what they can and cannot do.
So momma reminded TY about how he had spent all of his life till that moment with his Big Daddy.
And finally she asked him, “Do you think Big Daddy will actually do that, bite off your face?”  TY just burst out laughing and ran back to continue playing with his Big Daddy.

To know someone means to have developed a relationship with them through meeting them, observing them and spending time with them. It could also mean to be familiar or friendly with the person. So definitely TY knew his  Big Daddy only too well and though he went off telling his momma what Big Daddy said he was going to do, the knowledge he had of Big Daddy was enough for him to know that Big Daddy would never do that.

Dear friends, how well do we know our own Daddy, our Heavenly Father? To have an intimate knowledge of Him, the kind that TY had with his Big Daddy, would require having an active relationship with Him in which we observe Him and spend time with Him. All this can only be possible in the place of bible study and meditation.

TY, having spent so much time with his Big Daddy knew that he would never hurt Him. So I ask again, how well do we know our Heavenly Father to know what He can and cannot do? We often say “#what God cannot do does not exist”, but do we know the things that He  can actually do for us?
To know what God can do is to be assured.
To know what God can do is to be bold.
To know what God can do  is to be confident.
To know what God can do is to be daring.
To know what God can do is to be powerful.
To know what God can do is to be strong.
The bible says: “but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32b
If we want to do exploits, we must commit to knowing God and then our strength will be built from there.

The bible reveals to us all kinds of challenges and oppositions that people faced and therein also we find the solutions and how they handled some of them. For example, a king of Judah was threatened by another king who even went as far as telling him that their God (the God of Israel) would only deceive them by promising to save them. That king of Judah took the threat letter and went straight to the temple of God. He lay it right there and reported the threat to God.  (please read 2 Kings 19) This is what happened thereafter.
“Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:“ ‘He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here.
He will not come before it with shield
or build a siege ramp against it.
By the way that he came he will return;
he will not enter this city, declares the Lord.
I will defend this city and save it,
for my sake and for the sake of David my servant.’ ”
That night the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies!” 2 Kings 19: 32-35 NIV
This story tells us that God will defend His own people whenever they are threatened. But we must know this already so that when a threat comes in any way, we know how to respond appropriately instead of fretting. Is anyone threatened in any way, maybe on a job, perhaps a negative health report, a strange man or woman in your marriage, a rebellious child, dwindling finances? Lay out the threat before God. Remind Him of what He said He would do and watch Him do it again.
God is no respecter of persons and He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
GET TO KNOW GOD, BE STRENGTHENED AND BE READY TO DO EXPLOITS.
