NO HIT AND MISS.

NO HIT AND MISS.
Many years ago, I used to hang out with a very dear friend of mine and we would play darts in her house for hours on end. I used to love playing darts. Stretching my body back, squinting, trying to hit the mark, aiming for bullseye; it was such a thrill. Even though quite a few times I would miss and cry out in mock anger and frustration I thoroughly enjoyed the game.
I know that some professional dart players have perfected the skill so much so that they rarely miss the mark, but no matter how perfect they have become, they were not always there. They were beginners at some stage until years of practice honed the skill to perfection.
With our God, that is not, has never been and will never be the case. Our God is perfect all the time. And that means He simply cannot miss a mark or a target. “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Isaiah 55:11 NLT
The Word of God will do exactly what it says. And it will never return to Him empty.
But we might wonder that there are a lot of promises in scripture which we have believed and confessed and they are still outstanding. No, they have not missed their mark. Please hear this, “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is God’s word. The seeds that fell on the footpath represent those who hear the message, only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them from believing and being saved. The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation. The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity. And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.” Luke 8:11-15 NLT
There we have it. We must cling to God’s Word and wait patiently for it to produce a huge harvest in our lives. God’s Word is not a magic wand. God’s Word is a seed and every seed has a harvest time. No seed is planted and sprouts fruit immediately.
While we are clinging to the Word of God in our hearts this is what God is doing. He watches over them. “Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12 ESV
The Word of our God, our Heavenly Father is not a hit and miss. There is a very popular verse in the King James Version of the Bible that goes “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” But another translation says it this way:
“For no word from God will ever fail.” Luke 1:37 NIV
We must take the Word of God ever so seriously because it has the power to transform lives and change situations for good.
In the book of Proverbs, we are told that the power of life and death is in the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21 Paraphrased) That is how powerful our own words are. They can cause to come alive or cause to die. How much more powerful then is the Word of God!
Dear friends, our relationship with the Word of God should be a clinging vine one. We should be helpless without it and totally dependent on it. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I say again that meditating on the Word of God will help us BIG TIME. That is the best way to cling to the Word.
As we cling to the Word of God and wait patiently for it to bring forth fruit, I pray that we will harvest our thirty, sixty and hundred fold returns, in Jesus name.
THE WORD OF GOD WILL NEVER FAIL.
IT IS NOT A HIT AND MISS!
