We shall not be disappointed.
We shall not be disappointed
Sometimes in life people get disappointed.
Things get out of hand and become disjointed.
Often they come up with excuses that are lame,
Or just resort to playing the blame game.
Now, there are some in the scriptures,
Who did not end up in pretty pictures.
And it did not take too long,
To see what really had gone wrong.
Look at the crafty, he did not get away;
“God disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.” Job 5:12 KJV
The wicked also did not go far before the Lord caught up with him.
“Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword.” Psalms 17:13 KJV
As for the proud, he was utterly abased to life as a beast of the field because he did not acknowledge God.
“Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.” Daniel 4:37 KJV
There was one who despised a king; because he dared to worship the King of Kings; and her story was told that she remained barren till the end. 2 Samuel 6:16-23.
Another, because of his greed, took over the dreaded disease of leprosy for his lineage – Gehazi thinking he was smart, cornered Naaman, the Syrian general, in order to receive money and other material things that his boss, the prophet Elisha had refused. “The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.” 2 Kings 5:27 KJV
Ananias and his wife Sapphira kept back some of the profit of the sale of a plot of land. Then satan filled their hearts and they told a lie about it. It was no longer possible to enjoy whatever it was they had planned because they died immediately the lie was uncovered. Acts 5: 1-10
And what about dear brother Judas; betraying our Lord and Saviour for thirty pieces of silver which he never spent…… He hung himself.
These are some of those who did not get what they bargained for.
Their hopes were dashed and their expectations were cut short indeed. Let us then tread carefully so as not to end up like them.
Stay away from craftiness so you do not end up in a mess.
Wickedness never profited anyone. The curse of the Lord lives in the house of the wicked and they know not peace. Proverbs 3:33; Isaiah 48:22
Pride will close your heavens and make the earth beneath you barren. Leviticus 26:19
Be careful not to disdain or criticise a true worshipper of the Lord otherwise barrenness will lie in wait at your doorstep.
Greed! Greed! Greed! It will bring calamity to ones household. Proverbs 15:27
As for liars, they will never amount to much. “The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.” Isaiah 9:15 KJV
So listen to what God is saying to you today: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
Let us therefore trust in the one who will not let us be put to shame and surely our expectations shall not be cut short in JESUS name.
