GOD LOVES US ALL THE TIME

GOD LOVES US ALL THE TIME

In the real world, (not in the carefully curated, filtered, make believe, picture perfect world of social media), people have real issues. There are struggles on a daily basis. People are barely getting by. Needs are outstanding and do not look like they will be met anytime soon. Bills are piling up, rent is going due in a couple of months, the wife is expecting a baby, (yet you have just been scraping by), the company is cutting back and your job is on the line, the teenage daughter is expecting a baby and the doctor’s report confirmed your worst fears.

These and many more are issues that people are dealing with across the globe and they are being overwhelmed by these burdens. Some just sink into depression or other mental health conditions when they feel there is no way out of their predicament while others are blessed to have supportive friends, family or colleagues and are eventually able to get back on their feet. However if this is a place where you find yourself now and it seems like all hope is lost, I bring you good news today. Please hold on and do not let go. Help is on the way already. “For “in just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” Hebrews 10: 37 NIV God is a present help. Please call on Him. “Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Psalms 50:15 NLT

Let us always remember that God is never the author of pain or confusion. And when bad things are happening or things are not going well, God is never the originator and even if He allows them, it must be for a reason. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 KJV. All things here means – whatsoever; good or bad. God will make it work for our good. How can we be sure that God will make it work for our good? Well, this is what I learnt: “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” Romans 8: 32 NLT God already gave up His best and most precious for us, Jesus. What else can He hold back from us? He gave Jesus to die for us out of love.  Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?” “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” Romans 8: 35, 38 NLT

God loves us and nothing will ever change that. When we love someone, whether it’s our spouse, children, siblings, parents or friends, we want to do things for them. We want to be sure they are doing fine. We want to be there for them. And especially when it comes to our children we want nothing but the best for them. That is an exact attribute of God. God loves to do things for us, He wants us to be fine and He is there for us and He definitely wants the best for us. Yet there are times we are faced with some difficulty or other and it does not mean that God has stopped loving us. God’s love is a constant. The best thing that we can do then is to simply trust Him knowing He will somehow work it out for our good. While trusting Him, let us  think of things to thank Him for and we will discover that even in trials there is so much to be thankful for. Praise should also never be far from our lips when things are not going well. King David said  “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34 :1 KJV

Dear Friend, let us trust God through the storms of life. He loves us and will never leave us to weather the storms alone. He will bring us safely through on the other side. Hold on, don’t let go.
