STEP FORWARD AND SPEAK UP!

STEP FORWARD AND SPEAK UP!!!

It started with a pair of high heels.

My friend was turning fifty and she was having a party.

Naturally, I wanted to look good and having dressed up I began to think “What shoes will I put on?” Now my outfit required a pair of black or gold shoes. So I decided to go with the gold. And then I had to choose between the high and not so high pair.

Ladies you know we have a better gait when we wear heels, right? But I was worried about my ankle and I gradually began to see things going wrong, like “My ankle giving way”; “Taking clumsy steps”; “slouching”and so on, until I almost talked myself out of it.

And then, I suddenly remembered a teaching from Pastor Mrs. Yemisi Ashimolowo of KICC, when she said “Whatever you believe will happen to you; will happen to you”. So I psyched myself back up, put on my gold high heels and went off, without the slightest pinch to my ankle.

How many times do we let fear, doubt, worry, anxiety or procrastination stop us or slowly talk us out of doing what we really want to do? The more afraid we become of a thing the more chances there are of it happening to us.

“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”  Job  3:25 KJV

Of the twelve spies whom Moses sent to view the promised land of Canaan, only two; Joshua and Caleb, came into it. They were bold and fearless while the other ten perceived themselves as mere “grasshoppers”.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight” Numbers  13:33 KJV

It’s time to start talking ourselves out of fear and into victory because like Caleb said in Numbers 13: 30b KJV  “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

Do not let fear grip you or cripple your creativity. Be confident and know that God has your back.

We are assured of this: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee”. Deuteronomy  31:6  KJV

What is that long forgotten dream,  that abandoned project, that vision, that mission, that passion.? Step forward boldly, fearlessly and courageously and watch the red sea of doubt and fear part before your very eyes. After all “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy  1:7  KJV

Song writer Nathaniel Bassey in his song “Onise Iyanu” (God of Awesome Wonders) from his 2016 album, “This God is too Good” said  “The words you speak turn things around”.  Like Joshua and Caleb let’s step forward and speak up. Knowing that we are created in the image and likeness of God it is time for us to start speaking words that will turn things around for good for us.

Let us now begin to speak favourable words to situations that appear impossible and watch them turn around for good.

Speak up and talk yourself out of all negativity.  Put on your high heels and your best foot forward and GO!!!
