THE ANOINTING

Jesus Christ! We know, He is the Anointed One.  Acts 10:38

But see what else the Father has done!

A king NOT of the chosen generation;

Is chosen to do the will of the God of creation.

He says of this king “You are my shepherd and shall perform all my pleasure”  Isaiah 44:28

“And even from the darkness and hidden places I will give you treasure”  Isaiah 45:3

The One who makes a path in the mighty waters;  Isaiah 43:16

The One to whom we are the clay and He, the Potter;  Isaiah 64:8

Calls this king by name even though he does not know Him as God.  Isaiah 45: 4

That God would go as far as anointing him; do not think as odd.

For Cyrus, the anointed, did not worship neither did he praise;

Yet for the sake of Jacob and Israel, even a pagan king, God did raise!  Isaiah 45:13

Know this today my friends,

God anointed Cyrus to fulfil His purposes and deliver the children of Israel from Babylonian captivity.  Isaiah 45: 1-13;

He also empowered this pagan king to mobilise His elect to go and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.    Ezra 6: 3-5

This God has not changed. He is still the same.

So perhaps your help is coming from the place you least expect,

Remember; the heart of the king is in the hands of God.

And like Hillsong sang in their 2003 live worship album HOPE; (Still!)

“Know His power in quietness and trust,”

I dare say, if you truly trust God, then, let Him anoint whom He will.
