THE GREATEST INSTRUCTORS

THE GREATEST INSTRUCTORS

I am the product of a great “teacher” mother. An astute educationist. A nurturer “par excellence”. She has trained, taught and tutored generations of pupils who have gone on to excel in their different callings and professions. And the testimonies abound.

But today is not about her. Today I want to celebrate the “greatest instructors”  and it is worth giving everything to learn from them!

I know a man who had absolutely no confidence in himself. As a matter of fact,  he used to stutter and stammer and could barely get a word in during an argument. Then one day he was called and chosen to represent his people before a very powerful king who had held them captive, to negotiate their release. For a man who referred to himself as slow of speech, it was remarkable that he got the job done. This man was Moses and his teacher was The Most High God.

“Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say”. Exodus 4:10 – 12 KJV

Another man, a much younger one, who had no prior experience of being in the military,  killed and humiliated a giant who had been oppressing and terrorising the army of his people.  He went on to become a great warrior and a man after God’s own heart.  That man was David and he was quick to say where he got his lessons from.

“He teacheth my hands to war so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.”  2 Samuel 22:35 KJV

Are you a business person, you should befriend the Lord and make Him your “besto”. He will give you the strategy needed for profitability and He will order your steps too.

“Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.”  Isaiah 48:17 KJV

Farmers also learn from Him. He shows them the best way to do it.

“Does he who plows for sowing plow continually? Does he continually open and harrow his ground? ……….; For he is rightly instructed; his God teaches him.”  Isaiah 28:24 & 26 ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION

Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, taught the disciples how to pray.

“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”  Luke 11:1 KJV.

He also taught them the importance of praying fervently and persistently.

“One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.”   Luke 18:1 NLT

(The parable of the widow and the judge)

The Holy Spirit is also a teacher to learn from. Jesus Christ states clearly that the Holy  Spirit will teach us all things.

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26 KJV

Jesus Christ left this message for us. The Holy Spirit will teach us absolutely everything that we need to know. But do we even know Him? Do we ask Him for help in the face of challenges? Now that we know there is nothing He cannot handle, let us ask Him to come to the rescue. So what are you grappling with; a case of low self esteem perhaps,  or are you preparing for a job interview? Maybe you have to defend that Ph.D thesis and you are absolutely petrified; or could it be that you need new strategies for the expansion of your small, medium or large scale business; go on and ask the Holy Spirit to help you, ask the Father to put the words you need to speak into your mouth. Are you a spouse who is always on the war path with your significant other, do you have anger management issues with your colleagues or household staff? Are you maybe dealing with a rebellious offspring or with the loss of a very dear one? Let the Holy Spirit guide you. Ask Him.

Ask the Greatest Instructors for help; ask God the Father, ask Jesus the Son, ask the Holy Spirit. They will never lead you astray. With them you can rest assured that ALL WILL BE WELL.
