SEEK GOD AND LIVE
I found this very interesting when I came across it: “For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, seek ye me and ye shall live“. Amos 5:4 KJV
Being very familiar with the scripture; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33 KJV), it came as a shock and an eye opener to hear God saying when we seek Him, we live.
If we do not seek God therefore, we are dying, very slowly!
Then why do we seek God really? And let us be very truthful here.
Do we seek Him to live or I’m thinking could it be for the long list of C’s: cars, cash, clothes, children, celebration, competition, culinary delights, choice properties, comfort,……….
Whatever the reasons are, seeking God is not to be taken lightly and it’s not to be planned for special occasions only; like job or marriage choices or relocating or buying a new house. Seeking God should be something we do all the time.
When we seek God it makes us stronger; 2 Chronicles 11:16-17
Just as well; we will need strength when He makes us prosper. 2 Chronicles 31:21
Seeking God brings courage to get rid of our mess; 2 Chronicles 34:3-7
And as we do so He shows us the right way so we do not digress. Ezra 8:21
As we seek Him, His mighty hand is upon us for great things; Ezra 8:22
When we seek God He gives us understanding of all things. Psalm 53:2
A heart that is glad is a heart that rejoices. It is also a heart that seeks God. Psalms 70:4
And when we seek Him diligently, His reward is so much others might think it odd. Hebrews 11:6
David, understood all these things and as such he set out early to seek God.
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:” Psalm 63:1a KJV
I charge us now to make seeking God a priority.
Let us seek Him early, it will set a great pace for the days, weeks, months and years ahead.
Let us seek Him so that we know the right way for our children and our resources.
Seek Him in praise, seek Him in worship, seek Him in prayer, seek Him in His word.
LET US SEEK GOD AND LIVE!
