GOD IS CARRYING US
One of my greatest joys is being the mother of an absolutely amazing son. It is a privilege and a gift from God that I do not take for granted. And though there is more than fifty years between us, he could not have come at a better time. (I never thought I would say that).
There is so much that I am learning and so much more that God is teaching me just by my son being in my life. And this reaffirms to me that God’s timing is utterly perfect.
A few nights ago, my son slept off on my bed, which is not unusual. When that happens, I just carry him off to his bed. Well, on this particular night, I asked his father to carry him and I watched as this was happening. You see, my son is much older now and carrying him is not as pleasurable as it used to be. So I watched his dad struggle a bit trying to adjust to the added weight he had put on himself. But my son, oblivious to this and already in La-La land, just snuggled closer and wrapped his arms around daddy’s neck and his legs around his body. He slept like a baby that he is and did not wake up at all till the following morning.
There are times when we will have to face severe trials and all kinds of problems in this world. At such times we might want to just pack it up. We might want to give in. Some of us might even begin to have suicidal thoughts. Some of us have now come to the very end of ourselves. But all hope is not lost. God is here for us. See what the Bible says: “Praise the LORD ; praise God our saviour! For each day he carries us in his arms.” Psalms 68:19 NLT Is it an easy task to carry us in His arms? Yet God does this everyday according to the above scripture. And as if that is not enough, He carries all our burdens as well. ” Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall” Psalms 55: 22 NLT God is telling us to bring to Him, all that bothers us and weighs us down. We must trust Him enough to let Him help us carry these weights.
I bring good news tonight. Our Father, ABBA, wants to carry us. He wants to carry all our burdens. He wants to take every weight off us that is disturbing and unsettling us. Like my son, who just slept off in his dad’s arms, Our Father is assuring us that we will be safe in His arms. He will never let us fall He will carry us. He will even command His angels to carry us too. so that we will not feel any discomfort, hurt or pain.
Let go of all that is troubling you right now. ABBA, is the only One that has the answers and the solutions to all our problems. Let us trust Him. We are safe in His arms.
