HE ANSWERS EVERY CALL

Nife a lovely well mannered young lady was very hard working. She was dedicated to her confectionery business and believed that one day she would land a big break. By virtue of her upbringing and pedigree she had the personal contacts of a few highly placed and influential people yet they were not accessible to her. She would call or send messages to them. But they would always tell her that  they would call her back. Or tell her to send a message. But it never went beyond that. She had uncles in high places but it seemed nobody wanted to put in a good word for her. Nevertheless she forged ahead in her business.

One day, her delivery guy ran into some problems and his bike was no longer available for her to use. She was on the verge of disappointing one of her loyal clients; she was under pressure, deadlines were looming and she was about to have a massive meltdown. Fortunately her client then called to say she was in the neighborhood and that she would just swing by and pick up her order. What a relief! She managed to get through the day without any more hitches. On getting home that night, Nife broke down sobbing and asking God when things would change for her. She believed she was on the proverbial “corridor of power” yet the power was not accessible to her nor was it rubbing off her in any way. What was she doing wrong? What did she need to be doing right? Which uncle or auntie had she not called? Or was there still a former school mate she had overlooked?  That family friend had promised to help. Had she somehow forgotten to follow up with him? Or had he changed his number? Nobody was responding to her messages. It was beginning to look like she was constantly moving backwards. She was confused. She was sad. She was exhausted! Nife cried herself to sleep that night. But when she woke up in the morning she had a new lease of life. It was as though the near disaster and subsequent meltdown of the day before had not happened.

She was about to chide herself about her tears and realized they had done her a world of good. She felt like the tears had washed away everything that had impeded her sight. Suddenly Nife’s eyes were opened with clarity. And all the words and promises she had trusted in before came back flooding into her mind.  How did she get caught up in placing her hopes on people like that?

Nife stood fully dressed in front of her bedroom mirror and began to say; “There is One who is never too busy for me; NEVER. He told me that I can call Him anytime and He never changes His number, He is totally accessible to me and can always be reached in praise, in worship and in prayer. Those numbers do not change. I can never be a chatter box to Him; in fact He wants to hear from me often and His ears are not too heavy. There is not a time that I am not on His mind. He is always mindful of me. And if He wants someone to attend to me, He can send royalty to look out for me, the hearts of kings are in His hands. The only “Corridor of power” that matters to me now is the one that belongs to the One to whom all power belongs.”

And with her head held high she walked out the door, greeted her parents warmly and went to start her car. As she turned the key in the ignition nothing happened. She tried again and still nothing. Unperturbed, Nife picked up her phone, called her mechanic and told him that her car wouldn’t start. He promised to come over later. Then she called an Uber. While waiting for her ride to arrive she knew there was one more call she had to make. She went to her play list and started calling her “Abba” in praise, in worship and then she danced, she dipped, she turned, she hopped, she clapped and she jumped. By the time her ride came she had broken a sweat. But that did not matter one bit. She left for work of good cheer and in high spirits knowing that her “Abba” had answered her call because He never changed His number. And that was so heart warming it made her day.

LET US MAKE THAT CALL NOW. HIS NUMBER REMAINS THE SAME.

LET THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HE WILL ANSWER THAT CALL BRIGHTEN UP OUR DAYS.

SO CALL HIM IN PRAISE , CALL HIM IN WORSHIP, CALL HIM IN PRAYER.

HE ANSWERS EVERY CALL.
