LET US TURN UP THE PRAISE!
I love the idea of praising God.
I love praising God.
And God loves it too.
He loves it very much.
So much so that God said He was ready to replace humans with stones if they refused to sing forth His praise.
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” Luke 19:38-40 NIV
When Jesus was being praised by some of His followers as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, He told those who were objecting to the act that if the humans kept mute even nature would immediately begin to praise Him. I pray that no rock will out praise us in Jesus name.
“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalms 8:2 NIV Jesus also likened praise to strength when He quoted the above Psalm of David in Matthew 21:16 thus: “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “’From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”Matthew 21:16 NIV
This should not surprise us because according to the Word of God praise is the father of breakthroughs. “and Judah begat Perez and Zerah of Tamar; and Perez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram;” in Matthew 1:3 English Revised Version, Judah, which means Praise, brought forth Perez which means breakthrough; literally meaning that Praise brings Breakthroughs.
Praising God breaks down walls and barriers. Whenever we magnify and exalt God, He shows up strong and mighty on our behalf. He did that for David the shepherd boy turned king, when he faced and defeated Goliath the Philistine giant. “The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:37a NIV David made his boast in the LORD, and he was not disappointed nor put to shame.
Another thing I recently discovered about Praise, is that it can get you out of any fix and keep you grounded and very deeply rooted even when obstacles come along the way. “And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward” 2 Kings 19:30 American Standard Version
I found the use of the word “escaped” in the above version very interesting and insightful. Did you also notice taking root downward and bearing fruit upward? What this is telling us is that we can just praise our way of escape out of any contrary situation. Be it anxiety, boredom, depression, fear, loneliness, oppression and worry. The more we praise God, the stronger we become and the less shaken we are when things appear like they are not working out. The more we praise God, the less negative situations can sway or move us. That is the deep root which shows forth the fruit of being calm and at peace.
Dear friends, though God loves us to praise Him and He even comes to live in our praises according to Psalm 22:3, it is actually more to our own benefit when we praise Him. Therefore we should praise Him more often than not. We must not wait till we are in church on Sunday or any other day to turn up the Praise.
PRAISE HIM WHERE YOU ARE!
PRAISE HIM TODAY!
PRAISE HIM NOW!
And as we praise God, we will find out that NOTHING will intimidate us.
LET US TURN UP OUR PRAISE!!!
