MY FATHER’S HOUSE

MY FATHER’S HOUSE

I will always have very fond memories of my father’s house. It was there that I first knew what love was – unconditional love. My father and my mother, loved my siblings and I to a fault. It was in my father’s house that I was first cared for, provided for, nurtured and pampered. It was a house and a home filled with lots of fun, laughter, love and  joy.  And it’s still like that today.  Always a delight to go home for family visits.

Yet when we erred;

The rod was never spared.

Today I join my siblings and together we celebrate a most remarkable father Architect SAMUEL OLUYEMI JAIYESIMI who went to be with the Lord ten years ago. (“A good man who left an inheritance for his children’s children”) Proverbs 13: 22 KJV  Though we all miss our father very much and are always comforted by the beautiful memories we have of and with him, (“The memory of the just is blessed”) Proverbs  10:7a KJV  we rejoiced when he passed on because we got an upgrade. We gained miles beyond what any earthly father could give.   We gained “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, (is God in his holy habitation.)” Psalms  68:5 KJV

For some however; home is not the place I have described above. They have only memories of abuse, hurt, oppression, pain, rejection, and trauma. For others “home” is a place they never want to remember, never want to go back to. I do not know what your story is. But I do know a house that you can always call your “home.” It is my Father’s house. You are always welcome home to my Father’s house. He is eagerly awaiting your return. Just as there is a place for me, you also have a place prepared especially and exclusively for you.  “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.  In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?” John 14:1-2 ESV Did you hear that? Jesus assures us of a place with the Father. But we must believe in Him.

In my Father’s house there is no more pain and no more sorrow.  “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalms  16:11 KJV Yes! There is joy in my fathers house and His joy strengthens me.

In my Father’s house there is a renewal and a refreshing. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” Acts  3:19 KJV  As we are refreshed we will remember no more the hurt and pain of the past. They will indeed stay in the past.

Today I want you all join me in celebrating our Heavenly Father who has upheld us for the past ten years. He has been a shield,  a buckler and an anchor in the face of the fiercest storms.  A very present help in the time of trouble He has been unto us. “Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.” Psalms  10:14  KJV

God has been our total defence. Our Heavenly Father has been our deliverer,  our guide, our helper, our provider and our sustainer.

The privilege to be a child of God is however not reserved for the fatherless alone. You can become His child already by accepting Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour. For He is the way, the truth and the life and we cannot come to the Father except by Him. John 14: 6 KJV

And so I urge you today, if you have wandered away like the prodigal son, O! how the Father longs for you to come back home. Please come back home, God is waiting for you.

WELCOME! TO MY FATHERS HOUSE.
