THE FATHER’S LOVE
THE FATHER’S LOVE
A quick dash towards my baby where I had lain him down for a diaper change and I was able to avert a disaster as he spewed forth the contents of his mouth being his recently consumed lunch of milk, into my palm. Phew!! Thank God for that. I did not have to add another baby grow into our bottomless laundry basket.
I recently saw a video on social media of a dad diving forward to save his son who was tumbling down a slope at “break neck” speed, literally going to break his neck had his father not cushioned the fall. Never mind that said dad was all dressed up in a nice suit looking dapper. His reflexes kicked in and protecting his son was all that mattered to him at that point in time.
It appears that as parents we are extremely protective and alert when it comes to our children especially when they are babies and toddlers. Yet no matter how careful we are or we want to be there is One who is still more protective than we could ever be. He is our Heavenly Father “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows” LUKE 12:7 NLT . God loves and protects us more than we could ever do our own earthly offspring. Because we are extremely precious to Him. So precious that he knows how many strands of hair are on are heads. Did I hear a mummy out there say she once numbered the hair on her daughter’s head? Hm…. I thought not.
How many of us have hired personal body guards for our children yet? Maybe a few? We honestly would like to hear from you if that is the case. But our Heavenly Father does that for us all the time. “For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go” Psalms 91:11 NLT
Our Heavenly Father will never knowingly let us fall or get hurt. Yet there are times when we wander off and do not heed His warnings when we go and toy with sin. This is like a child you tell “Do not touch that” and they still go ahead and touch it. Once they get hurt and run to you, you immediately pick them up and cuddle the pain away. You never shoo them away. And so it is with our Heavenly Father whose arms are forever open as He patiently waits for us to realise our mistakes and come back to Him in repentance when ever we fall short of His Glory. “So he returned to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming . Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him.” Luke 15:20 NLT
The love of Our Heavenly Father for us is matchless and the truth is that it cannot be compared to our love for and protection of our earthly offspring.
“Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honoured, and I love you.” Isaiah 43:4 NLT We are so precious to Him that He gave His only Son in exchange for us. That was what happened on the cross of Calvary. We as sinners should have been hanging out there on that cross but Our Heavenly Father sent Jesus His Only Son to go and take our place. “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10 NLT
No matter how much we claim to love our children, God loves us so much more.
Always remember this and know that nothing you ever do or not do will not qualify or disqualify you from the Father’s Love.
It is unconditional.
Let us never forget that.
Go on and bask in the Father’s Love.
