As believers we are called to do great things.
“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NLT
As soon as we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour,  the Spirit of God takes up residence in us. And that is what propels us to greatness.

Naturally we recognize and celebrate greatness. Which is expected, really.
But do we recognize and celebrate the greatness that is in us?
We are not at all ordinary. The Spirit of God dwells in us and that is the Spirit that was with God at the very beginning, at creation.  “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Genesis  1:2 KJV
That is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.  ” The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans  8:11 NLT
In the past, the Spirit of God would come upon the children of God for a time and a season in order for them to execute an assignment. This was the case with Oholiab and Bezalel. “The LORD has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others.” Exodus 35: 31 and 34 NLT
Even Samson  the Israelite judge had the Spirit of God come upon him and then depart once his assignment was completed.  “At that moment the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon him, and he ripped the lion’s jaws apart with his bare hands. He did it as easily as if it were a young goat. But he didn’t tell his father or mother about it.” Judges 14:6 NLT
But today that is not the case. The Spirit of God lives in us as believers. That is greatness indeed! And it has been deposited in us for signs and wonders.

All the greatness that we are, all the exploits that we are meant to do or the signs and wonders that we are meant to exhibit are all locked up in the Word of God and the word of God is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” 2 Timothy 3:16 NIV
That breath of God is the Spirit of God.
Therefore we must align with the Spirit of God, be aware of His presence in us and befriend Him.

My prayer therefore is this:
Please grant me the grace to appreciate and honour your Spirit that lives in me.
Let Him be my eyes and my vision
Let Him guide my thoughts
Let Him guide my words
Let Him order my steps
Let Him direct my actions
Let Him be my knowledge,  my skill and my ability.
Let Him show me the right way
And let Him teach me all things.
Let Him quicken and strengthen me to be all the greatness that You created me to be.
In Jesus name, Amen!
